In 2001, when Gary Singh came to Bay Area, California, there were not too many choices for homemade-style vegetarian Indian food. At that time, he was the first to think and to open a proper Indian vegetarian restaurant. He studied that him and other Indian residents were missing the taste of homemade food from India. Thus, Gary Singh and Family decided to open the first Chaat Bhavan Vegetarian Restaurant in Fremont in 2009. His family helps him in running the restaurant and enjoyed interacting with customers and improving the restaurant based on that feedback. It is hardwork, day and night.
From Fremont, they got an excellent response, and their customers from nearby cities encouraged us to open new sites in their hometowns. So after that, in 2012, we opened a second location in Sunnyvale and third in 2014 in Dublin. It was from there they made faith in people's minds. Now his family members such as his brothers: Gurjeet Singh, Jaspreet Singh, Sanmukh Singh, Atinderpal Singh and others are involved in all of the locations. Chaat Bhavan is famous for its traditional Indian Food. Nowadays, it is a brand everyone knows.
The business has grown organically with three full-service restaurants and full-service catering business from 50 to 10,000 people catering. The food served at Chaat Bhavan includes Punjabi food such as: Maki Di Roti, Parathas, Bhaturas, Naans and Maharashtrian Food such as Vada Pav, Chaats, Pav Bhaji, Ragada Pattice, and Usal Pav. Each of the dishes have a unique flavor, taste, and texture. All our dishes are cooked for perfection.
The motive of our restaurant is not just to serve food but to ensure that each customer leaves with a smile on their face. Moreover, customers at Chaat Bhavan are more than just diners. When they come to Chaat Bhavan, they become part of the Chaat Bhavan family. This, together with the high standard of our restaurants, is what keeps guests coming back.
We grew up being influenced by the exotic spices of Northern India that filled the air of our childhood home. Our family farmhouse grows organic vegetables. In our family kitchen, we observed a lesson on utiltizing every part of an ingredient and spice. To share our passion for authentic Indian food made with fresh ingredients, we learned that Indian food the way we cook is not just food, it's medicine to the soul. In our recipe, we do not use any preservatives. We believe in the healing power of food. Each ingredient such as ginger roots, garlic, clove, cardamom, green chili, and fresh vegetables help us in staying healthier. We care about our ingredients from where we get them, how we cook, and how we serve.
We are proud of our chefs, they cook with love and care, they put their heart into every dish. We train every server not take any shortcuts and doing their best to accommodate every guest and the take care of their dietary needs and food sensitivities.
We cook all dishes daily at Chaat Bhavan, and we use authentic organic hand-pounded Indian spices to give a fresh aroma to our customers. We use a local source for vegetables and other needs. Our Dals(lentils) soak overnight to provide fully-cooked dishes. For our traditional breads, we make the doughs daily to give the feeling of freshly-cooked food to our customers.
